Japanese car giant Toyota looks set to recall thousands of Toyota cars in the UK because of a defective accelerator pedal. The problem was originally found in parts supplied by a US manufacturer. The defect causes the accelerator to stick, which means that the car keeps speeding even though the driver has taken their foot off the pedal. Toyota has announced a recall will be implemented, but that the exact number of vehicles likely to be involved is under investigation. Concerned motorists should contact Toyota GB Customer Relations. This worry comes on top of Toyota announcing that it planned 750 job cuts at the UK plant.
