The next hybrid from Toyota, the Toyota Auris


Toyota has ported the Toyota Prius hybrid technology to the Toyota Auris. The Toyota Auris will be built in the UK and will go on sale in the second half of 2010. Toyota has made a number of changes to their popular three doors, five door hatchbacks. The ride will be lower, the airflow improved and a rear diffuser with a big rear spoiler. The Toyota Auris will be powered by the 1.8L engine found in the Toyota Prius assisted by an electric motor that is powered by nickel-hydride metal batteries. Low resistance tyres are fitted on 18" alloy rims. The Toyota Auris promises to be an economical car.
