The Ford Fiesta has been around since 1976. Since then it has seen seven major changes, culminating in the 2008 mark 7 release, originally proposed as the Ford Verve at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. To view the aesthetic shift from the Fiesta mark 1 to the mark 7 is to take a very quick lesson in the visual change that the industry has gone through as a whole; from the boxy, practical look of the Fiesta mark 1 to the rounder, friendlier looks of the 2003 release to the swooping, space-age, almost mean look of the latest model.

The Ford Fiesta has always had a reputation for being a nippy, easy to handle and, perhaps more importantly, cheap to run and maintain. For this reason, the Ford Fiesta will most probably always have a place in any motorist's garage in whatever guise it may take on in the future.
