Diesel
The Citroën Saxo is a supermini, produced between 1996 and 2003. It was something of a success, particularly with first-time buyers, and especially so in the UK, where it sold twice the amount of vehicles than it did in any other EU territory. This was thanks to Citroën offering many model and trimming options, giving customers the choice of bringing the costs down to affordable levels. In addition to this, the engine was extremely economical and the Saxo was cheap to insure. Eventually the Saxo was replaced by the C2. Towards the end of its life it became clear that the interior trimmings of the Saxo were inferior to competitors' models in the same price range, and it faired rather poorly in safety tests too. |
