Total Recall

04/11/2010

Total RecallIt seems that barely a week goes by without another vehicle recall hitting the headlines - and this time it's Honda's turn.

The US arm of the Japanese manufacturer has announced that it will be recalling nearly half a million vehicles built between 2005 and 2007 - in this case, Odyssey and Acura RL models.

The concern is over a brake cylinder seal. Honda is worried that the use of non-Honda braking fluid could lead to degradation of the seal, leading to a possible fluid leak, which would result in spongy-feeling braking and eventually a dangerous loss in braking performance, "increasing the risk of a crash", as the recall notice puts it.
