Range Rover wins award

Continuing on the theme of awards, the Range Rover Evoque has managed to snap up the Best Production Car award in the 2010 Car News, Car Design of the Year awards.
Being the first Land Rover to offer a two-wheel drive option and decreased weight compared to the competition, its carbon emissions stand at around 130g/km and the 2.2 diesel engine harnesses stop/start technology to squeeze 50 miles out of each gallon.
The car beat competition from Alfa Romeo and Audi (specifically the Gulietta and A7, respectively) to claim top honours. The Evoque will go on sale this summer from £30,000 in the UK.
Continuing its green credentials is the strong speculation that an electric hybrid version will be available in 2012/13.
