On the subject of the legendary car manufacturer, erstwhile engineer Gordon Murray, who helped shaped McLaren into what it is today, has also been showing off his latest designs – albeit of a rather different type to mile-chewing racing cars.
The T27, while very odd-looking, nevertheless packs a powerful bunch. It’s claimed to be the most efficient electric vehicle yet, with a 25kW engine that will hit 62mph in under 15 seconds, powered by a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with which you should be able to squeeze 100 miles out of a single charge. Amazingly, it’s only 98 inches long and 51 wide, which goes some way to explaining its 680kg weight.
A release date is set at 2013, with a price point that is yet to be announced.
