To celebrate its 100th year in the UK, Ford is embarking on a £1m student programme, which will hand over a £10,000 grant to 100 university students over a period of 3 years.
It's called the Ford Blue Oval Scholarship Programme, and its goal is to inspire the next generation of engineers to innovate and create.
Ford has long held a big presence in the UK, employing 15,000 throughout the UK. The Dagenham engine plant can boast of building engines for 1 in every 4 Ford vehicles on the planet, and add in the Bridgend plant and this figure increases to 1 in 3 – a total of 2 million engines are produced a year.
