Car of the Year shortlist named

It was at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 that the finalists for the World Car of the Year were named, chosen from an initial list of 10 by 66 journalists, hailing from 24 different countries.
The three that have been selected are:
- The Audi A8
- The BMW 5-Series
- The Nissan Leaf
With the Nissan already having won European Car of the Year – the first electric car to do so – there is great hope for it to do the double, so to speak.
The finalists for the World Performance Car were also announced, are as follows:
- The Ferrari 458 Italia
- Porsche 911 Turbo
- Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
