British Car Industry Faces Potential Boost

The Sunday telegraph has reported that Jaguar Land Rover is looking to build a major new engine plant, and so far three locations have been listed – Wolverhampton, South Wales and an unnamed location in India.
The new plant could create more than 1,000 jobs on top of the 17,000 number staff that JLR already employed in the UK.
This comes as little surprise after JLR last year announced plans to invest billions of pounds into its business and made noises about safeguarding its UK interests.
The UK produces 1.4 million vehicles a year – an increase of 20% over 2009’s numbers.
