Bentley has bucked the economic trend of the last few years by seeing a 37% rise in its 2011 global sales, primarily in China and the US, where demand for luxury goods continues.
A third of these sales were made up by the Continental GT, the price of which starts at £136,000. The soft-top Continental GTC also helped matters, increasing December sales by 69% on the same month in 2010.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley Chief Executive stated that "The dramatic sales growth reflects the global strength of the brand, and a recognition of the quality, craftsmanship and engineering excellence of our cars."
While the US remains as Bentley strongest market, China is catching up, with sales doubling over last year's.
