A Welcome Mat
12/01/2011
General Motors has recently announced that it has invested in Powermat, a company that produces a product that allows you to charge mobile devices by placing them upon an electronic mat.
General Motors plans on incorporating this futuristic technology into a large range of vehicles such as the Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick from mid-2012 and onwards. However, most fittingly will be its inclusion in the Volt, the corporation's flagship electric vehicle.
More interestingly and perhaps far-out is Powermat CEO Ran Poliakine’s belief that this is the first step to large charging mats for cars themselves! We will wait and see, but do hope that a very convenient future beckons.
