A Victimless Would-Be Crime
17/08/2011
The staff at Confused.com have been busy analysing data and announced that, quite astonishingly, they have not had one single theft claim for a Ford Ka between the years of 2004 and 2011.
"A Ford Ka is not very likely to be stolen, as thieves will view them as cheap, with no power and no street cred among thieves," said Michael Fraser, a security expert and ex-burglar who Confused.com interviewed.
He continued to say that the main mistakes people made was leaving items on display, such as satnav stands, handbags, phone leads and, in the case of vans, expensive tools.
The obvious conclusion is that if you never want to deal with the hassle of having your motor stolen, make sure that you keep your Ka tidy.
Confused.com's list of the top 5 most stolen cars:
- Toyota Yaris (1 in every 244 models stolen)
- VW Touareg (1/256)
- Volvo XC90 (1/370)
- Porsche (1/417)
- Seat Altea (1/435)
